ABOUT
Get to know
An unexpected path from engineering to entertainment.
Lauren Howe is a Canadian host, actor, and storyteller whose career bridges entertainment, sports, and STEM.
She began her on-camera work with the Toronto Maple Leafs as their In-Arena Host while completing her Industrial Engineering degree at the University of Toronto.
She has since worked with Sportsnet, TSN, Breakfast Television, and CityTV, co-hosted the national broadcast Live from the Grammy Awards Red Carpet, and covered major cultural and sporting events including TIFF, The King’s Plate, the Invictus Games, and the Pan and Parapan-American Games.
What began as a scholarship dare led to Lauren being crowned Miss Canada and placing in the Top 10 at Miss Universe. There, she met women whose lives were far more complex, surprising, and culturally rich than the stereotypes portrayed.
The experience sparked her interest in getting behind the camera and contributing to more nuanced, female-focused stories that deserve thoughtful production.
She is now in early development on a docuseries exploring the global female experience through curiosity, cultural context, and solution-focused storytelling.
In 2020, Lauren expanded into acting with credits in Reacher (Amazon), Blackberry, Neon Lights (eOne/Netflix), and more.
Her work also includes visual storytelling as a photographer and creator of Howe To, a digital series that explores how people and ideas are shaping our world.
Known for her warmth, curiosity, and quick wit, Lauren knows how to read a room and put people at ease. Whether interviewing talent or navigating live events, she brings authenticity, intelligence, and a playful comedic sensibility that makes conversations feel genuine and engaging.
Across her work, one theme remains constant: a natural curiosity for people, ideas, and the systems that enhance the human experience, informed by her background in engineering, her work with emerging technologies and startups, and her career in sport and entertainment.
Oh, and her love for golf and sharks. Talk to her about either of those things.... immediate BFFs.
